It was so overcast today I didn't know if I wanted the drapes opened or closed. My desk sits facing a large picture window and it's great to watch as people go by in either rain or shine. I live in So. California and it's usually pretty sunny and that's good for me because I don't go outside that often. My plants love it and my Cockatiel, Fred, loves it too. The only person that does not like it much is my husband, Tony, aka BigT. His thing is watching TV and running around in his shorts, that is, when I can get him to wear any. I don't know why he cares so much about the sun shining through the window and him not getting to watch TV in the dark, because he is usually asleep anyway! Anyway, it was so dark and dreary today that I ended up closing them after opening them an hour earlier, lol. The awards are on tonight so they are being recorded in the bedroom so I can enjoy them later, speeding through the parts that I have no interest in seeing. Hope I watch it because I like it, seeing all the celebs but there are so many things that I record on the DVR and then never watch. Time would be an issue because watching TV comes second to using my computer. There is never enough time to do all the varied things I enjoy doing on my computer, so it is a hit and miss situation.
This blog will be the same, but I am going to try to pop in here daily and even if I write just a couple of sentences or post a photo, that will keep me smiling. The name of my blog as you can see is "Sugarshirl Smiles..." because there is almost nothing I like better than to smile or make someone else smile. My nickname has been with me on the Net for about ten (10) years now and I truly like it. My name of course is Shirley, duh, and I am sweet so it is an apt nickname for me I think. There were a lot of tries with other ones such as Sassyshirl, Sexyshirl, Sweetshirl, Smartshirl and Sarcasticshirl, lol, you get the idea. It was like I was trying to describe myself and saying I was all of those things, which of course I am! Then I remembered that being called Shirl always made me feel good since it is so friendly and being called Sugar makes me feel sexy, so now I am known as Sugarshirl all over the Net. Some call me Shirl, some call me Sugar, some call me Sugarshirl, some call me Shirley, some call me other names that I won't repeat here, but whatever name I am called, it is me.
One of my favorite things to do on the Net is to collect animated siggy tags for use in my emails, groups and in the various forums I subscribe to. A lot of people do not like bling, but I love it! When I comment on someone else's blog, I will always leave one of my animated siggys, unless they do not like bling, then I will respect their wishes of course. Well, that is about all for today, BigT is wanting me to join him for some TV viewing so I had better go and take control of the remote. Until tomorrow...
